PARENT COACHING

WHEN YOU NEED HELP KNOWING WHAT TO DO NEXT.

You have probably already tried talking, backing off, setting limits, changing limits, taking the phone, giving the phone back, and wondering whether you are helping or making things worse.

Parent counseling and guidance

Clarity and strategy. No judgment.

RECOGNITION

YOU ARE NOT LOOKING FOR ANOTHER PARENTING LECTURE.

  • You are second-guessing boundaries that used to feel obvious.
  • You and your teen keep escalating each other even when you both mean well.
  • You feel like you are walking on eggshells — or bracing for the next conflict.
  • Consequences are inconsistent because nothing seems to work for long.
  • You are worried about anxiety, depression, ADHD, school, substances, or motivation and are unsure how hard to push.
OUR APPROACH

PRACTICAL SUPPORT FOR THE PART YOU CAN CONTROL.

Parent coaching is collaborative support focused on what you can do next. It is not about blaming you for your teen's behavior. It is a place to step out of the heat of the moment, understand the pattern, and make more intentional decisions.

STRATEGY & TOOLS

WHAT WE CAN WORK ON

Communication

Say less, listen better, and reduce conversations that immediately become power struggles.

Boundaries

Set expectations that are clear enough to hold and realistic enough to follow through on.

Consistency

Move away from consequences created in the middle of an argument.

De-escalation

Recognize what is happening sooner and respond in ways that reduce the heat instead of adding to it.

Support

Think through how to respond to anxiety, ADHD, depression, school stress, substances, or low motivation without making every interaction about the problem.

WHAT IF MY TEEN WILL NOT GO TO THERAPY?

You can still start.

Parents often have more influence over the pattern than it feels like in the moment. Parent coaching can help you change how you communicate, set limits, respond to escalation, and introduce help — even when your teen is not ready to sit in the room.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PARENT COACHING

Does my teen have to attend?

No. Parent coaching is specifically designed to give parents a place to work on strategy and the home pattern without requiring the teen to participate.

Is parent coaching the same as family therapy?

No. Parent coaching focuses on the parent's decisions, communication, boundaries, and response. Family therapy directly works with the relationship between family members.

Can parent coaching help with ADHD or anxiety?

Yes. It can help parents think through expectations, accommodations, communication, reinforcement, de-escalation, and how to support a teen without letting the concern take over family life.

Can we add teen therapy later?

Yes. The right combination can change over time. We can help you think through when another service may be useful.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR TEEN IS READY.

If you need a clearer way to respond right now, start with a conversation.
