FAQ
You do not have to understand therapy, choose the perfect service, or know exactly what your teen needs before reaching out. Here are answers to the questions parents ask us most often.
Start by reaching out. Tell us what has been going on, ask questions, and let us know what you are hoping will change. We will help you think through the right type of support and therapist fit.
No. You do not need to decide between teen therapy, family therapy, or parent coaching before contacting us. That is something we can help you sort through.
That is common. We can talk through how resistant they are, what has been tried, and whether teen therapy, parent coaching, or another starting point makes the most sense.
Teens need meaningful privacy for therapy to work, but parents also matter. We explain confidentiality and its limits clearly, including situations where safety requires information to be shared. We also talk with families about useful ways to keep parents involved without turning sessions into a report-back system.
You can ask a question before you decide what you want to do.
Yes. If you have someone in mind, tell us. If you do not, we can help with the match based on your teen's personality, concerns, preferences, schedule, and the therapist's style and experience.

Yes. In-person services are available at our Folsom office based on therapist availability.

Rates vary by clinician and service. We will explain the current rate clearly before you schedule so there are no surprises. We provide superbills for out-of-network insurance reimbursement upon request.
We are an out-of-network provider. Many insurance plans provide partial reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. We provide detailed monthly superbills for you to submit to your insurance company.
Standard individual teen therapy and parent coaching sessions are typically 50 minutes. Family sessions are typically 50 to 75 minutes depending on the goals.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and rapport. As symptoms improve and goals are reached, sessions can taper to bi-weekly or as needed.
